Ausstellung: Resonanz der Demokratie - Hongkonger in Deutschland e. V.

Ausstellung: Resonanz der Demokratie

The Umbrella Revolution + Anti-Extradition Law Movement Exhibition will take place at the Berlin House for Democracy and Human Rights at 7:00 PM on December 6. The exhibition will feature photographs and paintings, as well as the head of the iconic 4-meter-tall Lady Liberty statue that stood on Lion Rock for a single night. Additionally, the 2-meter-tall Lady Liberty statue from CUHK, which has never been publicly exhibited in Hong Kong, will be on display. These statues symbolize the determination and fighting spirit of countless Hongkongers in their pursuit of democracy, embodying both moving and heartbreaking stories.
During the opening ceremony, we will be joined by the original creator, known as “Lady Liberty Papa,” along with the creators of the Global Lady Liberty (currently in Massif Central, Frankfurt). Together, they will share insights into the creative process and the stories behind these iconic sculptures. Did you know there are actually three Lady Liberty statues?
To learn more about these statues and the story of Hong Kong’s fight for democracy over the past decade, mark your calendars for this special exhibition. Join us in sharing Hong Kong’s story with the people of Germany!
